WHAT MOVED US
TAOR ・ The Art of Relaxation is a project born from friendship, creativity, and a shared love for yoga in all its forms. We, Lena and Felicia, met in 2017, and from the very first moment, a deep connection and mutual inspiration grew between us. Both of us were teaching yoga full-time ・ Lena focusing on restorative practices, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other healing approaches, while Felicia was immersed in the dynamic world of Jivamukti Yoga. Though our styles were different, we shared the same wish: to offer spaces that nurture presence, softness, and unfolding.
When the pandemic began, everything changed. Like many of us, we found ourselves teaching through screens, missing the energy of being in one room, of community, touch, and shared breath. In 2021, when the Covid restrictions finally began to ease, we felt a strong call to come back together ・ to move, breathe, and connect in real life again. Out of this longing, we created TAOR ・ The Art of Relaxation.
We started with a simple idea ・ live, in-person one-day urban retreats ・ they became a way to reconnect and to bring the depth, calmness, and nourishment of a yoga retreat into everyday life, without the need for travel. These gatherings offered an accessible, affordable space to slow down, dive deep, and feel community again after so much separation. They became a grounding ritual for us and our participants ・ moments of stillness, joy, and rediscovery.
From there, the project naturally evolved. We began offering online harmonium courses, exploring how music and mantra can deepen the yoga practice. And because we loved working together and wanted to make yoga accessible for everyone ・ especially for those struggling financially or traveling ・ we launched our YouTube channel and virtual studio.
Now, three Sundays a month, we share free yoga content on YouTube, alongside a monthly Jivamukti masterclass every first Thursday and various online retreats and special programs. TAOR continues to grow ・ not just as a project, but as a philosophy: a reminder that relaxation, depth, and connection are not luxuries, but an art we can all cultivate ・ anytime, anywhere.
